1/15/2005, Traditional play with kids, Aioi sights, fish market, oysters

In the morning, Akemi and I went to a community event organized by one of the English teachers and his wife.  We did traditional Japanese play activities with Japanese kids.  We did this once before.  In this case, we made kites, traditional badmitton paddles, flew the kites, and ate Japanese sweets.  The kids were, of course, a lot of fun to be with.  In this case, we were more participants than teachers, but we did help with the setup and tear-down.

After that, the teacher, Shimizu-sensei, took us for a little drive in Aioi.  He took us up to an old mountain-top lodge with a beautiful view of the harbor.  Naturally, I took some pictures.
