About me

In case you found this while browsing the web and you've never met me, here's a brief biography that should give you an idea of who's telling the story.  I also have a home page.

I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington in the United States.  I turned 26 years old in June 2004.  I graduated from the University of Washingon (in Seattle) in June 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.  After that, I worked as a Computer Science TA for the University and as a programmer for OlympusNet, a small internet service provider.  After that, I worked as a programmer in Nordstrom's (a department store) internet and catalog division.  I play jazz piano and I love to ride my bike, hike, swim in lakes, eat ice cream, see jazz shows, sing, eat ice cream, cook, make cocktails, go to plays, have dinner parties, and eat ice cream.  I can speak enough Japanese to communicate with patient people, but not enough to understand Japanese television or read a Japanese newspaper.  I guess I'm at about the 2.5 year level with Japanese.  So, that's the informal disorganized version.  You can also go to my home page.

thumbnailYup.  I really do ride that thing.  I took this with a timer on the pretty road between Aioi and my school which is in Kamigori.
thumbnailMy buddy David took this on a beach in a very rural area on the island of Shikoku.
