1/16/2005, Making oysters-rice zosui (like risotto) with Akemi

Akemi and I spent much of the day around the house talking.  But, in the afternoon, we went to Himeji and walked around.

thumbnailIn Himeji, I picked up this tasty ice cream cone.  The shop serves soft-serve ice cream, but their machine will mix practically anything into the ice cream.  In this case, I asked them to mix in some sour cherries.  It was really tasty.  The place is very close to the castle, but underground.

In the evening, Akemi made oyster zosui.  Zosui is made with rice and other stuff.  It slightly resembles risotto, but that really doesn't do it justice.  Zosui is like, well, zusui.  Try it sometime.  Here's a picture.
