8/27/2005, David trip: Rakan-no-sato Park in Aioi
We headed up to one of the beautiful parks right here in Aioi. Japanese people go here for picnics and short "hikes". Actually, they're not hikes. We're talking 30 minutes or so to the top of the "mountain" which barely counts as a hill. That said, it's a beautiful place to spend a few hours. It was also the site of the events where we played traditional games with Japanese kids.
Anyway, we took some pretty pictures while we were there. The one's marked with an asterisk (*) were taken by David.
After getting off the bus, we had to walk about a mile from the bus stop to the park. I think it's a beautiful walk. *

Finally, we reached the park. We "hiked" up this hill and found this lovely view. *
Then we went back down to the base of the park and played around in a playground. *

David was playing with these dogs. He tried to sneak up behind them and touch one of their noses before he noticed him. *
We also examined the local creepy-crawly life. David really has a knack for photography. I've never been able to get a good picture of a spider. But, David does a remarkable job at it. *
