5/10/2005, Mom trip day 14: Waffle, Aioi-so Park

Going out for breakfast

In the morning, we went to my favorite breakfast shop here in Aioi, Petite Cafe.  My mom absolutely loved the place.  It is small and quaint, but the owners have decorated it very artfully.  In addition to a wall of his gorgeous photographs of flowers, blown up to a large size, there are all kinds of simple things around the shop chosen and laid artfully.  And the people are super-nice.  So, I'd have to agree.

thumbnailThe owner really likes flowers, especially unusual ones that resemble something other than a flower.  He says this one resembles a fishing pole.
thumbnailSame flower, a little closer.  He had another one that resembles a torn up umbrella.

After breakfast, we went home.  My mom wrote some thank you letters to folks who showed her hospitality while she was here.

Aioi-so Park

In the afternoon, my neighbor, Mrs. Yamamoto took us for a ride by the sea in Aioi and up to the top of a mountain.  At the top of this mountain is a small summer resort and a beautiful park with a gorgeous view of the sea and Aioi.  I really wanted my mom to see it.  I was really happy Mrs. Yamamoto offered to take us.

Dinner

Since we won't have dinner together again in quite a while, we had a nice dinner at home.  We had home-grown rice and wild deer meet, both given to us by Mrs. Yokoyama and her husband.  And, we had vegetables and Japanese beef steak.  I tried to find some Kobe beef, but it was unavailable where I went.  It was a good dinner.

Note: Photos marked with "(HQ)" were taken by my mom.
