1/7/2005, Tokyo day 1: Keiko and Akemi's sister's family

I made a trip to Tokyo to see some friends.  I decided to make the trip at the last minute, so I had to call everybody at the last minute, but it worked out nicely and I got to see some friends so I was happy.

First, I met up with Keiko.  Keiko is a good friend of Fumi, my conversation partner in Seattle.  Keiko showed me around Tokyo when I made my trip in 2003.  We went out to eat, and then hit Yoyogi park, a big park near the Shibuya district.  There is a big music school in the middle of the park.

In the evening, I met up with Akemi's sister, Harumi, who lives in Yokohama, right next to Tokyo.  We went out to eat.  We had shabushabu, among other things.  It was really nice to get to know more of her family.  Harumi is married to fine man, Keita, and they have two sons.  They were kind enough to let me stay at their house for the night.  It's somewhat unusual in Japan to have visitors stay at your house, so I considered it an honor.
