2/26/2006, Saxophone recital of Akemi's friend, Yukiko

Yukiko is a friend of Akemi's.  Once in a while, we all go out for a bite to eat or a cup of coffee.  Yukiko plays the saxophone, Akemi plays the flute, and I play the piano, so we all have a little something in common.  On Sunday, Yukiko had a recital put on by the company through which she takes her saxophone lessons.  Lots and lots of people going up and playing their instruments.  Yukiko played in 3 songs (1 solo) spread out over a 5 hour period, so the time in between was rather long, but it was fun to see her play.  I took some pictures, but they're all pretty dark because the room was dark and I didn't want to use a flash.

During one of the stretches in between performances, we went out to lunch at a ramen restaurant that specializes in tomato ramen.  Ramen may have started out as an imported Chinese food, but it's very Japanese, now.

thumbnailI got the same thing, except with a big mound of grated cheese on top.  With cheese, tomatoes, and noodles, it tasted very Italian.
