5/2/2005, Mom trip day 6: Kyoto, Japanese Gardens at Arashiyama Tenryuji Temple
Monday, I had a day off from school, but it wasn't a national holiday. So, I thought it to be the best possible time to visit Kyoto, since Kyoto is usually packed with tourists, both Japanese and foreign. Visiting on a weekend or a holiday would involve wading through a lot of crowds.
Based on a pretty picture in a book about Japanese traditional gardens, we headed for Tenryuji Temple, near Arashiyama Mountain in Kyoto. Actually, Tenryuji is a complex of temples and gardens. Our main purpose was to see gardens, so that's what we did. We went through three gardens, two of which were fairly small. Here are some pictures we took at the gardens.

On the way home, we stopped at the Costco in Amagasaki. My mom wanted to see it and I needed to pick up some groceries.
