2/6/2005, Trip to Rakan-no-sato Park in Aioi
Mr. Shimizu, one of my co-workers, turned me on to Rakan-no-sato, a big, beautiful park in Aioi. It takes a 20 minute bus ride and a 20 minute walk to get to, but it's well worth the effort. We were behind schedule on our plans for the day, so we took a cab to get there. Akemi, a very skilled negotiator, got the ¥2800 (≈$28) cab ride down to ¥2000 (≈$20). Nice!
When we got there, we climbed up a hill about the size of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle.
The view was gorgeous.
I enjoyed it.
And, Akemi did, too.
A map of the park.
An explanation in Japanese, for those who care to read such things. It's too hard for me. I don't know what it says.
Saw this funny stone structure. I think it's significant in Buddhism. There were lots of Buddhist things all around the park.
We stopped for a rest in this nice place.
Very woodsy.
... and relaxing.
